Hollywood icon Tom Cruise continues to thrill fans with his Mission: Impossible franchise, recently sharing a 90-second clip that encapsulates the high-octane action and suspense from the series’ seven films.
The clip, unveiled during Super Bowl LVIII, features Cruise as Ethan Hunt in some of the franchise’s most memorable action sequences. From scaling the Burj Khalifa in Ghost Protocol to the heart-stopping helicopter chase in Fallout, the clip captures the essence of the Mission: Impossible series.
The video includes Cruise’s daring stunt of hanging from a moving plane in Rogue Nation and the awe-inspiring rock climbing opening from Mission: Impossible 2. The pinnacle, however, is the breathtaking motorcycle leap off a cliff followed by a parachute escape from the latest installment, Dead Reckoning.
In his social media post, Cruise expressed, “Condensing the excitement of all 7 films into 90 seconds was a challenge, but we certainly enjoyed the process.” Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor responded to the post, saying, “Honored to have been a part of one of them.”
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, the most recent film in the series, was released in theatres worldwide on July 12, 2023. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film follows Ethan Hunt and his IMF team on a mission to prevent a menacing new weapon from threatening humanity. As Hunt’s past comes back to haunt him, the film delivers a thrilling global chase with the future hanging in the balance. The next installment, Mission: Impossible 8, also directed by Christopher McQuarrie, is set to hit theatres on May 23, 2025.
In recent news, all seven Mission: Impossible movies are now available to stream on Paramount+. Meanwhile, Rebecca Ferguson, who played Ilsa Faust in the series, has revealed that her three-picture deal with the Mission: Impossible series has ended. Despite the end of her contract and the death of her character, fans continue to speculate about the possibility of her return in flashbacks or other capacities.
