Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s Action Thriller Dominates Box Office

Siddharth Anand’s Fighter has successfully joined the ₹100-crore club. The thrilling film raked in ₹28.50 crore on its fourth day across all languages, according to a Sacnilk report. The total collection of Fighter stands at ₹118 crore. The movie, which draws inspiration from India’s airstrike following the Pulwama terrorist attack, stars Hrithik Roshan as Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, also known as Patty, and Deepika Padukone as Squadron Leader Minal Rathore, or Mini. Alongside Hrithik and Deepika, the audience has also appreciated the performances of Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh, Karan Singh Grover as Sartaj Gill, and Akshay Oberoi as Basheer Khan.

On Sunday, Taran Adarsh, a Bollywood trade analyst, provided an update on Fighter’s day 3 box office collection via his X (previously Twitter) post. He wrote, “#Fighter achieves a robust total on Day 3 [Sat] after the national holiday [#RepublicDay]… Major centres – primarily multiplexes – persist to dominate, contributing to its biz… Thu 24.60 cr, Fri 41.20 cr, Sat 27.60 cr. Total: ₹ 93.40 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice.”

Taran Adarsh further added, “#Fighter needs to surpass Sat numbers on the crucial Sun, the last day of extended weekend… This can be achieved if mass pockets see a surge, supplementing the biz from urban centres.”

It’s worth noting that Fighter has not been screened in Gulf countries, with the exception of the United Arab Emirates. The film reportedly did not receive approval from the GCC Censors (Gulf Cooperation Council Censors). Despite the censor screening taking place on January 10, 2024, the official announcement about the film’s non-release in most Gulf countries was only made on January 23, 2024. Trade analyst Girish Johar confirmed this setback in a tweet, stating, “In a setback, #Fighter officially banned across Middle East regions for theatrical release. Only UAE will release the film with PG15 classification!”

Fighter is a joint venture of Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures.
